School lunch today hit a new low... and by low I mean waaaay low!
As in.... WHALE!
Yip that's right.... I was served up a big plate of WHALE!
Did I eat it? Hell NO!
Did I make sure everyone around me knew why I wasn't eating it? Hell YES!
I felt like a traitor just having it on my plate in front of me!

I had a conversation just this past Friday about whale oddly enough...I was talking to my vice principal, and I explained to him the various viewpoints (to my knowledge) from the west concerning whale.
His response was: "But it's so delicious!"
...
That makes me sooo mad! I can't believe they serve it at school - I don't think anyone is under any illusions that the whaling is all for "science" but i would have hoped it would be a bit more of a delicacy than that. It's disturbing. Good on you for taking a stand, im glad you knew what it was, to know not to eat it!!
Beth I was pretty mad too! And like you said, thank god I knew what it was! Luckily in class just before lunch the teacher was telling the kids what was on the menu... and just happened to have a photo of a whale!
Although to be honest... I probably wouldn't have eaten it regardless of what it was.... it's not exactly tempting is it?!

Glad that it wasn't on the Yamaga menu. I don't think they serve it here, but I could be wrong and you might have to go through it all again in a few weeks time.
